      What were you trying to do that didn't work?
          CAC card only works on GUI when GDM is restarted or it is inserted before boot.
      Please provide the package NVR for which bug is seen:
          Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.4
          pcsc-lite-1.9.4-1.el9.x86_64
          sssd-2.9.4-6.el9_4.x86_64
          gdm-40.1-23.el9.x86_64

      How reproducible:
          Customer listing was filed for is able to consistently reproduce the behavior.

      Steps to reproduce
          When inserted at startup, if the CAC is removed at any point, the subsequent insertion of the card is not recognized.
          When issue occurs when restarting GUI, user must login to root user to insert CAC then logout so that certificate is read on appropriate user login.     

      Expected results
          Card works without needing to pre-insert card or restart GUI.
      Actual result
          CAC card only works on GUI when GDM is restarted or it is inserted before boot.
