What were you trying to do that didn't work?
There is an additional "PASS" when I run virt-host-validate on a EPYC host which support sev and sev_es
Please provide the package NVR for which bug is seen:
libvirt-10.5.0-1.el9.x86_64
How reproducible:
100%
Steps to reproduce
- On EPYC host which support sev and sev_es, run virt-host-validate:
# virt-host-validate QEMU: Checking for hardware virtualization : PASS QEMU: Checking if device '/dev/kvm' exists : PASS QEMU: Checking if device '/dev/kvm' is accessible : PASS QEMU: Checking if device '/dev/vhost-net' exists : PASS QEMU: Checking if device '/dev/net/tun' exists : PASS QEMU: Checking for cgroup 'cpu' controller support : PASS QEMU: Checking for cgroup 'cpuacct' controller support : PASS QEMU: Checking for cgroup 'cpuset' controller support : PASS QEMU: Checking for cgroup 'memory' controller support : PASS QEMU: Checking for cgroup 'devices' controller support : PASS QEMU: Checking for cgroup 'blkio' controller support : PASS QEMU: Checking for device assignment IOMMU support : PASS QEMU: Checking if IOMMU is enabled by kernel : PASS QEMU: Checking for secure guest support : PASS QEMU: Checking for AMD Secure Encrypted Virtualization-Encrypted State (SEV-ES): PASS QEMU: Checking for AMD Secure Encrypted Virtualization-Secure Nested Paging (SEV-SNP): PASS PASS <---------------------------------- here
- while on system do not support sev (checked on vm):
# virt-host-validate QEMU: Checking for hardware virtualization : PASS QEMU: Checking if device '/dev/kvm' exists : PASS QEMU: Checking if device '/dev/kvm' is accessible : PASS QEMU: Checking if device '/dev/vhost-net' exists : PASS QEMU: Checking if device '/dev/net/tun' exists : PASS QEMU: Checking for cgroup 'cpu' controller support : PASS QEMU: Checking for cgroup 'cpuacct' controller support : PASS QEMU: Checking for cgroup 'cpuset' controller support : PASS QEMU: Checking for cgroup 'memory' controller support : PASS QEMU: Checking for cgroup 'devices' controller support : PASS QEMU: Checking for cgroup 'blkio' controller support : PASS QEMU: Checking for device assignment IOMMU support : WARN (No ACPI IVRS table found, IOMMU either disabled in BIOS or not supported by this hardware platform) QEMU: Checking for secure guest support : WARN (Unknown if this platform has Secure Guest support)
Expected results
There should not be an addtional "PASS"
Actual results
An addtional "PASS" when run virt-host-validate
