In order to consider improving the performance of VDO, we must first be able to quantify the performance of VDO.

• Determine which characteristics of VDO should be considered important for performance, and establish ways to measure those characteristics.
• Develop a plan for evaluating the performance of proposed changes, likely through some kind of A/B testing.
• Establish guidelines for how much improvement will make a proposal worth developing.
