What were you trying to do that didn't work?
Since compose RHEL-10.0-20240625.68 we are seeing problems with GUI when running x86_64 virtual machines in KVM. The host is Fedora 39.
1) The installer doesn't show GUI, although it's visible that the cursor changes when I get to the main hub using the keyword shortcuts. When tested the same compose on real HW (Lenovo T480s), the problem did not manifest and the GUI looked fine.
2) A system installed from compose RHEL-10.0-20240624.22 and then updated with packages from RHEL-10.0-20240625.68 do not show the GDM login screen any more, the VM says "Display output is not active." Output of journalctl journal_working (before the update) and journal_failing(after the update).
Noticed errors in the failing case:
Jun 27 14:45:00 localhost.localdomain gnome-shell[1261]: Page flip failed: drmModeAtomicCommit: Invalid argument Jun 27 14:45:00 localhost.localdomain gnome-shell[1261]: Failed to post KMS update: drmModeAtomicCommit: Invalid argument
Additional notes:
- RHEL-10.0-20240625.68 is the first nightly compose after RHEL-10 mass rebuild, so the list of changed packages comparing to RHEL-10.0-20240624.22 is quite long.
- RHEL-10.0-20240625.68 is the first nightly compose with Wayland in the installer.
Please provide the package NVR for which bug is seen:
