3. What is the nature and description of the request? Customer wants a secure remote access option to access a GNOME desktop session using the Wayland protocol.

Why does the customer need this? (List the business requirements here)
Customer requests this to secure a system used for remote code review for the US Department of Defense. The setup is small currently, 1-5 users. Customer is concerned about the expense of using public cloud systems for this purpose.

How would the customer like to achieve this? (List the functional requirements here)
Connection security:

• ECDSA P-384, RSA is okay if the SSH Kex is ECDHE P-384 based.
• SHA-256 Hash for key derivation functions.
• As a future roadmap, plans to support Crystals-Kyber instead of ECDSA and RSA soon.

• Should be able to work and secure a Win-11 or MacOS Client to Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 9.1 running a Wayland Gnome Desktop Session.
• Running in DoD in APL Desktop FIPS session mode.

Is there already an existing RFE upstream or in Red Hat Bugzilla?
No.

Does the customer have any specific timeline dependencies and which release would they like to target (i.e. RHEL5, RHEL6)?
Customer expects a resolution in RHEL 9 within 6 months.
