What were you trying to do that didn't work?
The installation images are built using the following linux-firmware subpackages, that are not included in RHEL-10 repositories (BaseOS/AppStream):
amd-gpu-firmware
amd-ucode-firmware
atheros-firmware
brcmfmac-firmware
cirrus-audio-firmware
dvb-firmware
intel-audio-firmware
intel-gpu-firmware
intel-vsc-firmware
iwlegacy-firmware
libertas-firmware
mt7xxx-firmware
nvidia-gpu-firmware
nxpwireless-firmware
qcom-firmware
realtek-firmware
tiwilink-firmware
IMO, one of the following should happen for each package:
- The package should be available in BaseOS/AppStream repository
- lorax should not use the package to build the installation images.
Note that RHEL-36319 already tracks the missing *-gpu-firmware packages.
Please provide the package NVR for which bug is seen:
RHEL-10.0-20240623.1
linux-firmware-20240328-3.el10
lorax-40.5.4-1.el10
lorax-templates-rhel-10.0-47.el10
How reproducible:
Always
Steps to reproduce
- Check lorax build logs with the list of packages available in BaseOS/AppStream repositories
Expected results
All firmware packages used to build the installation images are also present in BaseOS or AppStream repositories.
Actual results
The installation images are built using packages not included in BaseOS/AppStream repositories.
