      • Description of problem:
When starting thunderbird from a terminal, the following error message is shown (it does not prevent thunderbird from starting up, however):

      > /usr/bin/thunderbird: line 143: fg: no job control

      • Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
        thunderbird-102.4.0-1.el7_9
      • How reproducible:
        100%
      • Steps to Reproduce:
        1. Launch thunderbird with stderr captured.
      • Actual results:
Thunderbird starts up, but it logs

      > /usr/bin/thunderbird: line 143: fg: no job control

      • Expected results:
        No such error message.
      • Additional info:
Lines 142-143 of the "/usr/bin/thunderbird" shell script is

      > # Linux version specific environment variables
      > %RHEL_ENV_VARS%

This is taken as a shell "jobspec", hence the error message.

Presumably, the RHEL7 RPM install script fails to substitute %RHEL_ENV_VARS%.
