Description of problem:
In the midst of workstation operation with RHEL 8.4 there occasions users cannot launch gnome-terminal wither with holding the <Cntrl> and <left click on terminal icon>.
Also I have noticed that I can launch an Xterm and tried to launch a gnome-terminal from the Xterm but it is failing to start.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

• kernel level 3.10.0-957.10.1.el7.x86_64
• gnome-shell-3.28.3-6.el7.x86_64

How reproducible:
Not easily reproducible.

Actual results:
When I cannot interact with the gnome-terminal then I cannot use the OS and resulting failing to do the production critical operations.

Expected results:
No interruption with desktop interaction.
