What were you trying to do that didn't work?
Inspection of PCP RPMs delivered in RHEL-9.5 shows there are some java byte codes (*.class files) which are compiled using unsupported (obsolete) JDK.
Please provide the package NVR for which bug is seen:
pcp-6.2.2-3.el9
How reproducible:
Always
Steps to reproduce
# file /var/lib/pcp/testsuite/java/*.class
Expected results
The command in the reproduction scenario returns supported Java version (for rhel-9.5 it is version 55.0)
Actual results
# file /var/lib/pcp/testsuite/java/*.class /var/lib/pcp/testsuite/java/TestUnit.class: compiled Java class data, version 52.0 (Java 1.8) /var/lib/pcp/testsuite/java/USDTJVMTest.class: compiled Java class data, version 52.0 (Java 1.8)
Additional note
As this is an issue in pcp-testsuite and those java class files are intended for test purposes only, I do not consider this as a priority issue because it should not affect any production environment.
