What were you trying to do that didn't work?
A customer sees regularly the message in description.
The issue happens when the "systemd --user" service is teared down on being idle: some DBus client requests a change in RT policy but died already before rtkit_daemon could handle the request.
The suspicious DBus client may be pulseaudio, but I cannot reproduce for now, hence don't know exactly.
Please provide the package NVR for which bug is seen:
rtkit-0.11-19.el8
How reproducible:
Often on customer system
Steps to reproduce
- Perform sudo or su from a service, which causes a user session to be created (or log in, should reproduce as well)
- Wait for "systemd --user" to be teared down
Expected results
No such message (or at least at debug level)
Actual results
rtkit-daemon[2055]: dbus_message_get_unix_user() failed: Could not get UID of name ':1.<DBUSID>': no such name
