      What were you trying to do that didn't work?

      https://issues.redhat.com/browse/OCPBUGS-16085

      when trying to set a combined channel using net plugin on a non supported device - an error is thrown without specifying the device name which is not supported.

      Please provide the package NVR for which bug is seen:

      Openshift 4.11.12

      Red Hat Enterprise Linux CoreOS 411.86.202210201510-0  (and above)

      How reproducible:

      Always if trying to set a combined channel with tuned's net plugin on a non supported device.

      Steps to reproduce

      using a tuned profile with:

      [net]

      channels=combined 8

      for example, where non supported devices (running ethtool to change channel count fails)

      will results in error log messages without specifying the device name:
      2023-05-05T11:44:39.877209503Z 2023-05-05 11:44:39,876 ERROR    tuned.utils.commands: Executing ethtool error: netlink error: requested channel count exceeds maximum (offset 40)
      2023-05-05T11:44:39.877209503Z netlink error: Invalid argument

      Expected results

      Have the failing device name specified when net plugin fails to apply the desired settings.
