Both upstreamed and non-upstreamed tests of minicom break down when run by Bodhi [1] or OSCI [2].

Starting minicom in the test environment fails with the error message "no cursor motion capability", which indicates that it has a problem with the tty.

I'm still investigating possible solutions, including running minicom via `xvfb-run` or `script`.
