What were you trying to do that didn't work?
A customer has a HPE hardware with an attached USB keyboard in FR layout.
Additionally the system is booting in UEFI and Secure Boot.
It seems just impossible to have the keymap set to FR, for the following reasons:
- usb_keyboard is not embedded in the Grub UEFI binary
- even with workarounding this through booting in non-Secure Boot, installing grub2-efi-x64-modules and copying the modules to proper location, usb command lists no device
grub> usb USB devices: --> nothing listed
From above it seems some USB driver needs to be loaded (e.g. ohci).
- However when loading a USB driver, newer issues happen (disk not found anymore), e.g.
grub> insmod ohci grub> ls error: ../../grub-core/net/net.c:1552:disk `hd0,gpt2' not found.
Please provide the package NVR for which bug is seen:
grub2-efi-x64-2.06-77.el9.x86_64 (RHEL9)
RHEL8 as well
How reproducible:
Always, see above
Please help troubleshooting this, in the past I had a spare laptop to test this, but I had to return it to IT after much complain.
