Rsyslog run into segfault when ControlCharacterEscapePrefix is set.

      What were you trying to do that didn't work?

      Rsyslog crashed when `$ControlCharacterEscapePrefix` is set.

      Please provide the package NVR for which bug is seen:

      rsyslog-8.2310.0-4.el9.x86_64
      and
      upstream

      How reproducible:

      100%

      Steps to reproduce

      1. Fresh install RHEL9
      2. Update the rsyslog to rsyslog-8.2310.0-4.el9.x86_64
      3. Set the following directives to /etc/rsyslog.conf
      $ControlCharacterEscapePrefix #

      Expected results

      Rsyslog should not crash.

      Actual results

      Crashed.

            Hello,

            I reviewed the upstream PR, and it looks good to me. I expect it to be part of the next upstream release.

            In the meantime, as a workaround feel free to use the new syntax, which is the following:

            • global ( parser.controlcharacterescapeprefix = "#" )

            If the legacy syntax is used in the entire rsyslog configuration, then I can help with rewriting it to support the new Rainerscript syntax.
