      Hi QE Leads,

Tasks to track the enablement of component-level gating for RHEL 10 Beta have been filed in RHELMISC. [1] The deadline is Jun 30, 2024 (2 months and 3 weeks from now; corresponds to ITM 18), similar to what it was for RHEL 9 Beta three years ago. It lands between 10 Beta's CTC 1 and CTC 2, i.e. two weeks after CTC 1 is over and two weeks before CTC 2 begins, which we hope gives QE enough time to add and fix gating tests.

Any feedback is welcome on the gDoc draft [2] in case you have useful information that should be in the instructions (it'll be propagated to all tasks if so). Though an example for RHEL 10 is already included, you can also check the RHEL 9 Beta task and materials as the guidance is the same. [3]

Gating is essential for pre-verification, which in turn helps us ensure composes are more stable. Since RHEL 10 content resembles RHEL 9, you may be able to simply copy previous gating tests for a vast majority of components.

We'll be tracking progress in the RHEL 10 ProdAct dashboard. [4]

      Cheers,
Rui Ormonde, Leos Pol, and Linqing Lu

      Hello Linux QE,

to follow up on the gating ProdAct and questions raised regarding the baseos-ci support of the RHEL-10, here's a more info from the testing farm team:

The Testing Farm Team has decided to discontinue support for STI and workflow-tomorrow based test executions for RHEL 10. For x86_64, please enable your testing using a tmt dist-git plan [1]. For other architectures, contact the Testing Farm Team [3] for guidance on how to onboard your testing to BaseOS CI with tmt execution for other architectures. Follow the tmt migration guide [2] for STI. For any other use cases, contact the Testing Farm Team [3].

      Hope this helps,
