What were you trying to do that didn't work?

A task is stuck waiting for a response to an smb2 message, however there are no messages in the pending_mid_q.

Since the task holds a directory's inode.i_rwsem, many processes are also stuck waiting for the blocked process.

Please provide the package NVR for which bug is seen:

      kernel-4.18.0-513.24.1.el8_9.x86_64

      How reproducible:

unknown, but known to have occurred at least twice in customer's environment

      Steps to reproduce

      unknown

      Expected results

task is either still waiting on a pending message, or has received and processed it

      Actual results

process is stuck waiting for a message, however there are none pending

Will provide two vmcores with analysis
