What were you trying to do that didn't work?
When certain programs, like GIMP, are launched, certain windows can switch the workspace and steal focus in Xorg sessions.
Please provide the package NVR for which bug is seen:
40.10-14.el9
40.10-12.el9
How reproducible:
Reproducible on Xorg sessions; Wayland sessions seem unaffected.
Steps to reproduce
- Install GNOME and GIMP from the RHEL repositories.
- Start a GNOME Xorg session (Classic or Standard, doesn't matter).
- Start GIMP.
- When the splash screen appears but before the main windows does, switch to another workspace.
Expected results
Focus remains with the current workspace.
Actual results
Workspace is switched to the workspace with GIMP as the main window loads.
