The kdump tooling was originally designed for RHEL5. Since then the basic design never changed even though the RHEL/Fedora ecosystem changed dramatically. Thus modernize the tooling to reduce maintenance cost and add flexibility for coming changes, e.g. new kernel variances or UKI support.
