What were you trying to do that didn't work?
Using the "star" functionality in Nautilus doesn't work for files or directories in subdirectories under the home directory (e.g. Starring /home/amike/foo works, but starring /home/amike/Downloads/bar does not).
Please provide the package NVR for which bug is seen:
3.28.1-25.el8
How reproducible: 100%
Steps to reproduce
- Open Naultilus.
- Enter any subdirectory under the home directory (e.g. Documents).
- Star the file or directory by right-clicking on it and selecting Star in the context menu (if it exists; seems not to be a context menu option in some directories).
- Alternatively, Star the file or directory by switching to list view, making the Star column visible, and clicking the star in the file or directory's row.
Expected results
File or directory appears in the "Starred" category (selected by clicking "Starred" on the left-hand pane) , and if in list view with the "Star" column enabled, the star is filled in on the file or directory's row.
Actual results
- File or directory does not appear in the "Starred" category , and if in list view with the "Star" column enabled, the star is not filled in on the file or directory's row.
Other notes
- This issue does not occur if the file or directory is in the root of the home path (e.g. /home/amike/baz.png).
