What were you trying to do that didn't work?
wireless-regdb package has been updated and errors were reported when P2P test were run with that (https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-14247)
wireless-regdb package were not updated from a long time and we need the new one to get the new and udpated frequencies and channels. Then, the new wireless-regdb package contains more frequencies/channels to check and scanning can take longer.
The error is not appearing with the old wireless-regdb package.
To reproduce I am using an adapted bash script (attached draft script script_client_connect) from:
With the current status and due to retries because of the longer scanning, P2P session seems not to restart completely and is not progressing.
This situation is solved if wpa_supplicant includes the following commit: "3242793cb P2P: Remove pending p2p-listen radio work on stopping listen"
There is another issue with NetworkManager that can be tracked here: https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-16722
but the connection is completely established.
Please provide the package NVR for which bug is seen:
5.14.0-362.8.1.el9_3.x86_64 (latest rel-9.4 image)
How reproducible:
Easy with a beaker machine after several tries (max 10), but virtual machine can be used as well.
Provided script + script_client_connect retries automatically if the test is successfully completed and stops if there is any failure.
I have used wlan-r2s41.wlan.rhts.eng.bos.redhat.com (remember to blacklist or remove iwlwifi module previously).
Steps to reproduce
- Copy the two scripts to the same folder and run: ./script
script_client_connect script will be run infinitely until an error occurs
Expected results
Connection is always established
Actual results
Connection is not always established
