A common openshift use case is installing a cluster in a environment where external internet access is provided via a http proxy. NO_PROXY is used to list cluster IP addresses for which the proxy shouldn't be used.
cluster networks can be added to NO_PROXY in the form of a CIDR to skip the proxy but this only works for IPv4 addresses
An unmerged PR exists to fix this in python-requests https://github.com/psf/requests/pull/5953 but it has stalled
We'd like to pull this patch downstream to prevent more delays in fixing it.
