Goal
Provide a consistent and stable configuration interface for bootloader configuration within the RHEL System Roles project.
Acceptance Criteria
A list of verification conditions, successful functional tests, or expected outcomes in order to declare this story/task successfully completed.
- Shall provide ability to query the bootloader configuration and receive back a comprehensible view of the bootloader facts that is both easily readable by humans and machines for further automation.
- Safely and idempotently update the bootloader configuration
- Support for BIOS and UEFI
- Support for all architectures supported by RHEL
- Add/remove options grub/bootloader options such as rhgb, quiet, console tty, options to control specter/meltdown mitigations, networking options required for Clevis client, bootloader options specified in security standards such as DISA STIG, customer specific bootlader options required for 3rd party applications, etc.
