      What were you trying to do that didn't work?

      When using an http/s proxy for virt-who for communication to the hypervisors we put a proxy in [system_environment] in /etc/virt-who.conf this comes out as:

      http_proxy=http://username:password@server.example.com:3128

      We want to hide that password like we do with rhsm_encrypted_password but that does not work. I know there is rhsm_encrypted_proxy_password but that only works for communication between virt-who > RHSM/Satellite

      What is the impact of this issue to you?

      Unable to encrypt passwords for proxy so they remain in plaintext on the filesystem

      Please provide the package NVR for which the bug is seen:

      virt-who-1.31.28-1.el9.noarch

      How reproducible is this bug?:

      Steps to reproduce

      1. Install virt-who
      2. Configure an http/s proxy and put it /etc/virt-who.conf

      Expected results

      Password is in plain text

      Actual results

      Be able to encrypt the proxy password in /etc/virt-who.conf
