What were you trying to do that didn't work?
When the installer is unable to install a flatpak as part of the installation process, it is not possible to finish the installation:
Since flaptaks are not system critical components, I suggest to change the behavior and allow the user to finish the installation even when it's not possible to install flatpaks.
Here is an example of how anaconda handles a missing package insights-client, when the AppStream repository containing the package is not available. A similar behavior should be considered for flatpak related install failures:
Please provide the package NVR for which the bug is seen:
anaconda-40.22.3.42-1.el10
How reproducible is this bug?:
Always
Steps to reproduce
- Reproduced by registering the system to a staging CDN environment, but not setting a URL to a staging flatpak registry.
Expected results
Be able to complete the installation even when the installer is unable to install flatpaks.
Actual results
The installation stops, the only possibility is to exit the installer and leave the partially installed system unbootable.
