What were you trying to do that didn't work?

I executed a remediation plan containing a task with an invalid signature, hoping that RHC would catch and report the error.

Please provide the package NVR for which bug is seen:

Reproduced on a fully-upgraded RHEL 8 VM.

How reproducible:

100%.

Steps to reproduce

1. Create a remediation plan with an issue whose corresponding playbook will fail signature validation.
2. Execute the remediation plan.

This bug was reproduced with remediation plans containing the following issues:

• test:invalidSignatureExclude, with playbook invalidSignatureExclude.yml
• test:invalidSignatureTasks, with playbook invalidSignatureTasks.yml
• test:invalidSignatureVars, with playbook invalidSignatureVars.yml

Expected results

Remediation plan execution fails.

Actual results

Remediation plan execution hangs for an hour before timing out.

Logs show that RHC didn't execute the fetched playbook, presumably because of the signature validation failure. That's good, but the error also needs to be communicated. Logs: rhcd.log
