What were you trying to do that didn't work?

RHEL 8.8 server, joined to a Windows Server 2012 R2 managed AD domain. Domain functional level, 2008/2012. Joining method, Winbind.
When accessing a Samba shared folder, MS Office 2016 can not read or write a file if it's password-protected. The only error message shown is  "contact your administrator". If this password-protected file is copied from an external source to the share, the error is the same. If the file is copied to a local folder, it can be used without any error or warning. LibreOffice doesn't suffer this issue. This was working correctly with RHEL 8.7, the issue appeared after the update.

Please provide the package NVR for which bug is seen:

      samba-4.17.5-2.el8.x86_64
      samba-winbind-4.17.5-2.el8.x86_64

      How reproducible:

Very difficult, I have not been able to reproduce.

      Expected results

To read/write any password protected file using MS Office.

      Actual results

The file can not be read or written.
