What were you trying to do that didn't work?

After updating from RHEL 9.6 to 9.7, it is observed that applications that look for the GLIBC_2.35 string are unable to find it despite being present on the system. This is preventing libraries from being loaded for applications..

      The following error is observed:

error </lib64/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.35' not found (required by /lib64/libgcc_s.so.1)>

Grepping "strings" output does show the GLIBC_2.35 string are present.

What is the impact of this issue to you?

Applications that reference this string are unable to start

Please provide the package NVR for which the bug is seen:

      Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.7

      glibc- 2.34-231.el9_7.2.x86_64

      How reproducible is this bug?:

Consistent in RHEL 9.7, this did not occur in RHEL 9.6 (which also has the string)

      Steps to reproduce

      1. Attempt to start application that uses library that needs GLIBC_2.35 strings
      2. Observe behavior.

      Expected results

      Application runs without error.

      Actual results

Application outputs error regarding GLIBC_2.35 string not being found.
