What were you trying to do that didn't work?
- Unable to copy template gai.conf from /usr/share/doc/glibc-common/gai.conf and unable to do so because it is missing
- Affects https://access.redhat.com/solutions/6990462
Please provide the package NVR for which bug is seen:
2.28-174
How reproducible:
Steps to reproduce
- Browse to /usr/share/doc/glibc-common/
- Note that both the file and glibc-common directory are missing
Expected results
- Template file is present
Actual results
- Template file is missing
The file was removed per the following:
##########################################################
- Thu Nov 25 2021 Arjun Shankar <arjun@redhat.com> - 2.28-174
- Introduce new glibc-doc.noarch subpackage (#2021671)
- Move the reference manual info pages from glibc-devel to glibc-doc
- Move debugger interface documentation from glibc to glibc-doc
- Remove unnecessary README, INSTALL, NEWS files from glibc
- Remove unnecessary README.timezone and gai.conf files from glibc-common
##########################################################
This is problematic as there is no documentation reflecting this, nor instructions for the customer in product documentation noting how to configure gai.conf from scratch.
