Hi Amnon,
With the risk op repeating myself:
They are running two VM's on a RHEL 8.10 host.
One VM is running Windows 10 with the main application.
The other VM runs RHEL and has an image capture application.
Note: the image captured here is from the silicon/chip, It's for a metrology application.
The image capture application can capture up to 3 GB data per sec.
This needs to be moved to the other host.
They looked at Virtio-FS but think it can not go beyond 1 GB/sec.
The usecase is indeed filesharing between two VM's running on the same RHEL host.
The challenge seems to be the data volume of 3Gb/sec
At the moment they tried IVSHMEM with a shared memory, which works.
They are under the impression that Virtio-FS can only scale to 1 Gb/s.
Probably things will depend on the application (multi threading)?
Ofc I can go back to the customer for some questions, but maybe a short call would answer it all.
