What were you trying to do that didn't work?
Toggle switches widely used in the GNOME environment use only color and location (left/right) to indicate their status. There is a correct indication for screen reader users (“Toggle button (not) pressed”). But for sighted users, any text interpretation (e.g. a tooltip or a symbol) is missing.
What is the impact of this issue to you?
This issue is a reason, why RHEL Desktop does not comply with WCAG criterion 1.3.3 (Sensory Characteristics):
"Instructions provided for understanding and operating content do not rely solely on sensory characteristics of components such as shape, color, size, visual location, orientation, or sound.
All users can access instructions for using the content, even when they cannot perceive shape or size or use information about spatial location or orientation."
Please provide the package NVR for which the bug is seen:
gnome-shell-40.10-24.el9.x86_64
