As an admin, I want to be able to specify devices file devices using stable identifiers so that I can manage the devices file in spite of naming differences across systems, reboots, etc.

      Background

I recently needed to add the same device to system.devices on multiple machines, where the devices had different dev names.  It would have been convenient if I could specify a device_id, like wwid, to lvmdevices --adddev.  It seems like an obvious enhancement, and I don't remember if there was some reason it wasn't included.   Look into adding that.
