See RHEL-113687 for analysis. LTO archive offset handling has inconsistent types, which cause random crashes when linking against large archives on i686. This is intrusive for a fix on c9s, so consider fixing this in c10s.

      Original report

I'm trying to rebase cmake-3.31.8 on RHEL9, but I'm running into a fatal error when doing LTO linking.
