What were you trying to do that didn't work?

Usernames pulled from LDAP/AD are in the format "lastname , firstname" in the /etc/passwd file. At the login screen (GUI), only last names are displayed instead of user full name which creates confusion in cases when there are multiple users with same last name.

Please provide the package NVR for which bug is seen:  gdm-40.0-27.el8.x86_64.rpm

Steps to reproduce

1. Set up LDAP/AD and check /etc/passwd file or use getent command to check usernames . eg. 

1. getent passwd kn49
   kn49:*:158:158:Nguyen, Kenny (Proxy):/home/EXCHANGE/kn49:/bin/bash 

1. Check the username at GUI login

Expected results:  User full name should be displayed at login screen

Actual results : Only last name is displayed
