After the bind package update to bind-9.11.36-8.el8_8.1, named process consumes a lot of memory.

      What were you trying to do that didn't work?

      After the bind package update to bind-9.11.36-8.el8_8.1, named process consumes a lot of memory.
      In one case, before the package update, the memory usage was around 30% ~ 40% and stable. But after the update, the memory usage of bind bind eventually became high and it reached around 90% without any changes.

      Please provide the package NVR for which bug is seen:

      bind-9.11.36-8.el8_8.1.x86_64

      How reproducible:

      Few customers reporting this issue.

      Steps to reproduce

      1. Just update to bind-9.11.36-8.el8_8.1 and let bind run sometime.
      2. Check memory usage of bind after sometime.
      3.  

      Expected results

      The memory usage of the named process should not be significantly high.

      Actual results

      The memory usage of the named process eventually becomes high.
