What were you trying to do that didn't work?
Option to restore the rhsm.conf via subscription-manager command, in a way that any time, the customer should be able to restore it, not relying on backup file, or package reinstallation
What is the impact of this issue to you?
Whenever the customer would like to restore the rhsm.conf, maybe because he was using satellite and now would like to switch to customer portal, or any other situation.
Please provide the package NVR for which the bug is seen:
How reproducible is this bug?:
100%
Steps to reproduce
- Register the rhel against Satellite
Expected results
It would be great one option, something like subscription-manager reset-conf, where this one would restore the /etc/rhsm/rhsm.conf with the standard values, and yes, this would be pointing to subscription.rhsm.redhat.com
Actual results
The machine will be pointing to the new satellite, and some additional information will be updated under /etc/rhsm/rhsm.conf, and in order to restore it pointing to customer portal (maybe, the registration against satellite was by mistake), we need to rely on the backup file, or sometimes, once the backup file is not present, just by removing the file and reinstalling the package with --force.
