During a refactor of syslinux support in ReaR upstream, I found out that the hdt.c32 syslinux module cannot be loaded due to a missing symbol in libgpl.c32:
Undef symbol FAIL: exp Failed to load libgpl.c32 Failed to load COM32 file hdt.c32
Related Debian report: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=918915
Upstream patch: https://www.syslinux.org/archives/2018-August/026159.html
The attached screenshot is from a Fedora Rawhide machine but I've confirmed the issue on RHEL 9 and 10 as well. I plan to test RHEL 8 tomorrow.
