      When GNOME is activated while the monitor is powered off initially, the dash-to-panel extension crashes when the monitor is powered on and does not start.

      Steps to reproduce

      1. Make sure the dash-to-panel extension is enabled.
      2. Start and log in to GNOME with the monitor off or otherwise disconnected.
      3. Turn the monitor on (or connect it).

      Expected results

      Dash-to-panel extension starts normally.

      Actual results

      Dash-to-panel extension crashes with the following error:
      ```
      gnome-shell[$PID]: Extension "dash-to-panel@gnome-shell-extensions.gcampax.github.com" had error: TypeError: this.monitor is null
      ```
