      What were you trying to do that didn't work?

      The built-in camera (that is using Intel IPU6) of Lenovo X1 Carbon G12 (OLED screen) is not working under RHEL 10.

       

      Model:  Lenovo X1 Carbon G12

      Please note that this request is specifically about the "X1 Carbon" but the work towards this likely would enable other models or some Dell devices too.

      What is the impact of this issue to you?

      Users on a Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen12 are unable to use the integrated camera.

      libcamera

      pipewire

      Firefox

      How reproducible is this bug?:

      Always

      Steps to reproduce

      1. Install RHEL 10 on a Lenovo X1 Carbon Gen 11 laptop.
      2. Attempt to use the built-in camera with native camera applications or third-party software.
      3. Notice that the camera is not detected or not functioning as expected.

      Expected results

      The camera should work.

      Actual results

      The camera is not recognized by the system, and no video output is received from the camera when attempting to use it in applications such as Cheese.
