What were you trying to do that didn't work?

I was trying to run Synopsys Design Compiler Version X-2025.06 on RHEL 8.10 after upgrading krb5-libs to version krb5-libs-1.18.2-32.el8_10 from krb5-libs-1.18.2-31.el8_10.

What is the impact of this issue to you?

Synopsys Design Compiler will not start and report symbol lookup error: /lib64/libkrb5.so.3: undefined symbol: krb5int_c_deprecated_enctype, version k5crypto_3_MIT

Please provide the package NVR for which the bug is seen:

      krb5-libs-1.18.2-32.el8_10

      How reproducible is this bug?:

      Steps to reproduce

      1. Upgrade krb5-libs to version krb5-libs-1.18.2-32.el8_10
      2. type dc_shell in command line
      3. ****/Synopsys/syn/X-2025.06/linux64/syn/bin/common_shell_exec: symbol lookup error: /lib64/libkrb5.so.3: undefined symbol: krb5int_c_deprecated_enctype, version k5crypto_3_MIT

      Expected results

a security fix should not break compatibility

      Actual results

(Probably) a security fix breaks compatibility
