      Description

      Using huge pages to back KVM guest memory leads to lower overall CPU utilization. Up to z16 it wasn't possible to allow Secure Execution guests to use host pages larger than 4K.

      New IBM Z hardware will introduce the capability to use EDAT-1 (1MB pages) in the host to back guest memory. KVM and QEMU changes are needed to implement the 1MB host backing.{}
