Requested Feature Overview (aka. Goal Summary)
An elevator pitch (value statement) that describes the desired Feature in a clear,
concise way.
Customer wants the ability to adjust or set the width of Sidebar sub menu in RHDH UI.
The customer is experiencing a UI usability issue with the left navigation “My Groups” section using RHDH 1.7.
When a user opens/hover-expands “My Groups”, the flyout/popup that lists the groups is too narrow.
As a result, long group names are truncated and users cannot read/identify their groups reliably (enterprise naming conventions often produce long group names), refer to the image "image_of_the_problem".
We reviewed RHDH configuration options and could not find a supported way to adjust this UI element: No app-config.yaml option to set the flyout width / layout for “My Groups”.
No dynamic plugin configuration option to change this specific sidebar flyout sizing.
Goals (aka. expected user outcomes)
The observable functionality that the user would have as a result of receiving
this feature. Include the anticipated primary user type/persona.
Group names should be readable making wider flyout, or a documented/supported configuration option should exist to control the flyout width/behavior under Sidebar sub menu
Requirements (aka. Acceptance Criteria):
A list of specific needs, objectives, or user stories that must be delivered in order
to be considered complete.
Due to no option to set width of the flyout, long names are truncated and users cannot read/identify their groups reliably. Refer to attachement for image which shows this issue.
Out of Scope (Optional)
High-level list of items that are out of scope.
