Summary
New users of RHDH currently do not receive any onboarding assistance or guided walkthrough. This results in slower adoption, missed features, and increased confusion. A guided tour is requested to improve the first-time user experience.
Use Case
While accessing RHDH for the first time, users have no guidance to help them understand the interface or explore key features such as the Catalog, APIs, and Toolbox.
Current Behavior
- No interactive tour or onboarding assistance is provided.
- Users must explore the interface without direction.
- Key features can easily be overlooked during initial use.
Expected Behavior
As a first-time user, I want an interactive, step-by-step guided tour that highlights important sections of the platform. This would help me quickly become familiar with the UI and understand core RHDH capabilities.
Impact
- Slower onboarding for new users.
- Confusion or frustration due to lack of guidance.
- Important features may be missed.
- Reduces overall adoption and engagement among new team members.
Suggested Enhancements
- Provide an interactive guided tour that launches automatically on first login.
- Highlight primary sections of the interface (e.g., Catalog, APIs) with brief explanations.
- Include Next, Previous, and Skip Tour options.
- Add a way to relaunch the tour anytime from a Help menu or user profile section.
- (Optional) Make the tour configurable by admins (enable/disable or customize steps).
