    Description

We received this feedback from a user:

I recently installed OpenShift Local 2.13 (OCP 4.12) on my IBM Windows 10 laptop and noted an additional step is required for both the post installation setup and everytime to start the OS Local from a new terminal:

      • During the post installation setup (after download, install and restart Windows), do the following:

      C:\...> set USERNAME=%USERDOMAIN%%USERNAME%

      C:\...\> crc setup --log-level debug

      • When start OS Local from  a new CMD/Powershell terminal:

      C:\...> set USERNAME=%USERDOMAIN%%USERNAME%

      C:\...\> crc start

The additional “set USERNAME=%USERDOMAIN%%USERNAME%” is required if the user is a domain user.  Setup would fail without this step.  This is because the current installer does not handle domain of domain users and it looks for a local user in local user group crc-users instead of looking for a domain user.

I suggest to include the above in the installation guide until the OpenShift Local installer has been updated to handle domain users correctly.

gbraad-1 Is this issue still relevant? Would it be more relevant in the user guide or ijn the known issues?
