During RHCLOUD-42902, some initial brainstorming was done on ways we can reset data in SpiceDB in order to remigrate the data again for a service provider. The goal was to solve an initial need for HBI but long term we may need a way to bulk remove a large number of relationships and resources in Inventory and SpiceDB. Some options were captured in THIS doc, we should look into some of these options and test out what would improve our service and facilitate any needs to remove data before a resync
Some potential scenarios to keep in mind:
- Removal of all relationships of a specific resource type may not be possible – we need a way to remove large amounts of relationships via some input (resource id, local resource id, etc), this would also facilitate partial syncs
- How can we make this self-serviceable, could SP's handle the bulk deletion through some mechanism and trigger they own re-sync
- BC/CP scenarios where we must build everything out again or add another SpiceDB cluster (multi-cluster/multi-region)
