By April 1, 2026, all frontends on console.redhat.com need to migrate to using PatternFly 6 in production.
After this time, we will be removing the PatternFly 5 styling from Chrome.
Minimum package versions needed for the upgrade:
- @patternfly/react-core@6.2.0
- @redhat-cloud-services/frontend-components@6.0.8
- @redhat-cloud-services/frontend-components-config@6.6.2
You can view the PatternFly changes on their website.
The PatternFly team has published an upgrade guide which includes information about running their provided codemods, how to use the new theming system and design tokens/CSS variables, and searchable release notes.
UXD also conducted design reviews while migrating the HCC Chrome to PatternFly 6. They’ve created a resource for anyone else performing a PatternFly 6 design evaluation. The PatternFly team is absolutely available on #list-patternfly to consult on any issues products run into during migration.
