Review the CRCPLAN parent feature for additional context, including the feature overview, goals, user stories and use cases, acceptance criteria, designs, dependencies, risks, assumptions, pending questions and documentation callouts.
Summary and goal
Provide tooling, documentation, and support to streamline replicating service provider data (with an initial focus on host information) reliably and accurately into the management fabric.
Acceptance Criteria
- HBI host data can be consistently and verifiably present and accurate within the management fabric.
- Comprehensive documentation is created. This documentation should cover (but not be limited to) any setup process, operational procedures, and post-rollout monitoring/metrics/alerts.
- The process of setting up and managing data replication for a service provider is streamlined to the point where it can be maintained with minimal manual intervention beyond initial configuration.
- The entire replication solution is testable in various environments, including local and ephemeral development setups, to ensure reliability and ease of validation.

Non-goals
- No direct implementation within service provider systems: Management Fabric engineers will not implement any of the above in HBI ourselves. The responsibility of this epic is to provide the necessary connectors, define clear interfaces, and offer guidance. HBI remains responsible for implementing any required changes or configurations within their internal systems to support the data replication.
- No active monitoring of service provider infrastructure: Management Fabric engineers will not actively monitor anything introduced into a service providers ecosystem, but will provide tools and best practices for the teams to do this themselves.
Open Questions
Capture any open questions and resolutions related to the epic goal or acceptance criteria. Add any additional details, questions or decisions that need to be made or addressed.
- Is the platform experience team monitoring Kafka infra sufficiently? (rhit-ahenning took this action item to follow up)
- Is the platform experience team OK with us onboarding HBI into their Kafka/Debezium infrastructure
