Description

If you click on the virtual assistant button multiple times to open and close the chat in a very fast pace, the next time you open the chat you might encounter multiple welcoming messages from the assistant.

Steps to reproduce

1. Go to https://console.stage.redhat.com/preview/ .
2. Click on the virtual assistant button to bring up the chat.
3. Click on it again to close it.
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 by clicking fast.

Expected behavior

The next time you open the chat, only one welcome message should appear.

Current behavior

You end up getting multiple welcome messages, and sometimes even the bot ends up with an endlessly "writing" bubble.
