Summary

We are requesting an update to the sources wizard flow for cost management AWS sources, specifically as an update to support HCS customers. This would entail an option to create an AWS source for cost management with some different steps in the wizard. The data required directly from the customer is limited, but we would also need a metadata flag that this is an HCS customer.

Background

To support HCS customer concerns around sharing cloud cost and usage data, the cost management team is developing a "customer filtered" flow that allows a customer to filter datasets on their end and alert cost management (via an API call) when new data is ready to be ingested.

Details

• The cost team can provide fuller details and work with UX on any mocks required.
• We will need existing steps detailing how to create a cost and usage report
• We will need a step asking the customer to grant our AWS account access to the S3 bucket they will be using.
• A flag in the source metadata that tells us to skip normal validation for the source.
