      Feature Overview

Expose Slack Connector as a Settings > Integrations type in c.r.c.

      Goals

Slack is the first integration type utilizing the underlying RHOSE platform. With this integration, we intend to validate how we can leverage new connectors available to us via the RHOSE platform. Furthermore, we act as customer 0 and expect to provide valuable feedback to RHOSE team on usability and performance of the solution.

      Requirements

A list of specific needs or objectives that a Feature must deliver to satisfy the Feature. Some requirements will be flagged as MVP. If an MVP gets shifted, the feature shifts.  If a non MVP requirement slips, it does not shift the feature.

New 'Slack' integration type under 'Settings > Integrations' Tech Preview until RHOSE release MVP
Simple 'generic' transformation template for Slack messages Backward compatible with existing event types MVP

      (Optional) Use Cases

Slack becomes another notifications channel that account can use as part of setting up their behavior group(s) and forward events to.

      Out of Scope

Tailored Slack message template based on event type.

Rich formatting in Slack message template (simple text format).

      Background, and strategic fit

This is the first integration utilizing RHOSE platform. Collaboration between both QE teams expected.

      Assumptions

RHOSE solution is provided and maintained for Insights.

      Customer Considerations

There could be limitations on the number of events accepted by Slack on a daily/monthly basis? This needs to be researched.

      Documentation Considerations

This new integration type can be used in a similar way to webhook or email.

This requires to specify a Slack endpoint URL and Channel. Slack provides documentation on how to set it up on Slack side, but we should maybe provide a guide in our documentation (TBD).
