Feature Overview:
As an Insights product manager driving adoption, I need to know the basic engagement stats for our notification and other emails, so that i can understand how these are driving adoption and how to prioritize my notification features.
Goals:
- Improve notifications to drive adoption and engagement of Insights services.
- Show me open rates, click throughs, and other basic email stats
- Integrate stats with account information, so i can track the journey of accounts across all our platforms and messages
- Give me the ability to know which console entry points were driven by a Red Hat email
- maintain all the important legal email stuff, like unsubscribe
Background and Strategic Fit:
"Adoption" has been a key initiative on the Insights team for the next 12/18 months (at the least). Data shows us that customers do not open our console on a daily basis, and therefore rely on key tools like notifications to know when to login and take action. While we are putting some of these pieces in place, we have little to no view into the successfulness of those strategies. This work will help us measure and improve.

Some internal docs may be needed for this, but no customer facing documents, outside of perhaps updated terms of service, depending on the solution.
